You might be as well off with an early model as a late model - the prices would be lower and the machines - other than the 4 speed/5 speed transmission are virtually identical - look for something from the 80's - put in a gell battery and some new rubber - and spend the rest of the money on a tune up and oil changes and gas for all the trips you will afford with the money you saved by purchasing an earlier bike!
